Who are we?
And our story
🤔
This is an excellent question! In short, we are ordinary people with a great passion and a single goal in this chaotic world: to promote the most beautiful, best and friendliest region in the whole wide world – the West Coast! 🌊🌴 Our collective love for the #WestCoast knows NO limits. ❤️
On 13 February 2012, Riaan De Witt, a true Cape West Coast Klong, started a Facebook group to ease his homesickness after years of service as a UN Peacekeeper in dark Africa. 🌍✈️ Thus was born the name Weskus Jou Lekker Ding, and since then the group has grown over 14 years into a large, diverse and united Weskus Online Family. 👨👩👧👦
Our "Afrikaans West Coast Movement" is today strongly on its way to hosting a huge Braai Festival in 2026, right in the heart of the beautiful Tietiesbaai, within the Cape Columbine Nature Reserve. 🔥🍖
Meet the Team
Many people have played a role in our growth, but here are a handful of West Coast patriots who built our name and are the 'administrators' of our movement today. We are proud to share them with the World!
Sharon "AKA Sunny Sun Sun" De Beer: She is member number one on our roster and the head admin of our wonderful group of West Coast people. ☀️
"Grandma Maksie Pretorius": The legendary grandmother of Brackenfell, Cape Town. 👵
Monica Ceustermans: Our "Belgian Icon" and a very loyal Blue Bulls supporter. 🇧🇪🏉 She is the group's biggest troublemaker due to her rugby beliefs that don't always resonate with our majority of Stormers and WP supporters! 😂
Jacqueline (Claassen) Robinson: The "ubiquitous" Afrikaans Language General, our own "Pers Langenhoven". 💜✍️
